Beards Drilling recently completed ground anchor installation for a wall stabilisation project in Murwillumbah, NSW. This task involved stabilising an 11m high wall using ground anchors for wall stabilisation. What is Wall Stabilisation?
Wall stabilisation is similar to wall remediation and ground support, like rock bolting. Horizontal drilling is done through the ground or rock. After drilling, anchors are inserted into the holes. In rock bolting, mesh is used to reinforce the structure. Shotcrete is applied to further reinforce and stabilise the wall.
Installation Process:
Beards Drilling’s rig drills horizontally into the earth wall for anchor installation. The process is crucial for preparing the ground for the anchors. Ground anchors are used to stabilise the wall, ensuring its strength.
In this project, anchor bars were assembled and ready for installation. These bars provide the necessary support once grouted into the drilled holes. With careful preparation, the anchors were installed into the 11m high wall to ensure its stability.
Grouting and Final Installation:
We handle all aspects of the installation, from drilling to grouting. Our team drills pre-marked locations for accurate placement of the ground anchors for wall stabilisation. Once drilled, the anchors are grouted into position using shotcrete.
