Beards Drilling recently played a key role in the Walkerston Bypass Project. We were tasked with Bridge Abutment Construction, delivering two crucial bridge abutments as part of this major infrastructure project. This work was completed in partnership with Fulton Hogan.
Bridge Abutments- Project Overview:
The Walkerston Bypass Project focuses on improving traffic flow and safety in the area. The bypass will ease congestion and offer a better route for both local and through traffic. As part of this development, we were responsible for constructing two vital bridge abutments.
Scope of Work:
We were in charge of building the two bridge abutments for this project. These structures provide essential support for the bridge, transferring its weight to the ground. Abutments are crucial in the design and stability of any bridge. With our extensive experience in bridge abutment construction, we ensured the structures were strong, durable, and able to withstand forces like sliding and settlement. This will provide lasting support for the new bypass.
Project Highlights:
- Efficiency and Precision: Our team worked with precision to ensure each abutment was built to the highest standards. This commitment guarantees safety and reliability.
- Collaboration with Fulton Hogan: We worked closely with Fulton Hogan, blending their broader project goals with our drilling expertise. This teamwork contributed to the project’s overall success.

Additional Information:
Beards Drilling also provided substantial sub-horizontal drainage for this project. You can learn more about this part of the work here.
